Privacy Statement
PRIVACY STATEMENT
The BRAVE study is conducted by the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), referred to as “Study Team”, “we”, “us” or “our” in this privacy statement.

Type of Personal Information Collected and Purpose for Collection
i. A variety of information may be collected, including the participants' given name, family name, NRIC number, contact number and email address.
ii. The personal information collected will allow the scheduling of consent-taking sessions leading to participation in the BRAVE study.
iii. The Study Team will use the contact information collected during registration if interest for necessary communication and customer support. We will be unable to validate consent-giving and confirm study participation if no information was provided.

Disclosure of Personal Information
i. The Study Team will not disclose any Participants' personal information except under these limited circumstances:
a. The Study Team will access the Participants' personal information to provide the services that participants request for. These services may include Mental Health Service Providers, Social Service Agencies, and other services relevant to the participants' needs.
iii. Any disclosure of the participants' personal information by the Study Team to any third party will be used specifically for the purpose for which it had been disclosed. The Study Team will not share the participants' personal information to any party that is not involved in the screening, assessment, or management of mental health needs of the participant.
vi. The Study Team shall protect and take all reasonable precautions and adequate measures to safeguard the participants’ personal information against such risks as loss, theft, unauthorised access, unauthorised disclosure, modification, copying, use and destruction. The Study Team will not be held responsible for all submitted information and data that may be shared with any other third parties apart from those that The Study Team directly liaised with for the purpose of conducting this study.

Personal Information Security
i. The Study Team shall protect and take all reasonable precautions and adequate measures to safeguard the participants' personal information against such risks as loss, theft, unauthorised access, unauthorised disclosure, modification, copying, use and destruction.
ii. The Study Team will protect the confidentiality of the participants’ personal information in its dealing with third parties.

Accuracy of Personal Information
i. The participants’ personal information will be deemed as accurate and complete upon registration, necessary for the purpose for which it is intended to be used.
ii. Accurate, complete and up to date personal information will minimise any inappropriate decisions made about a participant when the need arises.
iii. A ‘Registration Confirmation’ Email will be sent to all successful registrants confirming their successful registration for the BRAVE Study.
iv. The participants may email to ddp_brave@imh.com.sg and request for changes to be made to their study participation details.

Retention and Destruction of Personal Information
i. The Study Team will maintain appropriate practices for retention and destruction where participants’ personal information will be erased and destroyed if it is no longer of use or relevant. Upon the destruction of participants’ personal information, the Study Team will then no longer have access to such personal information.

Transfer of Personal Information
i. The participants’ personal information provided is not transferrable to other countries and will be accessed only by the Study Team and its duly authorised partner/s. The Study Team shall not use any data provided by the participants, or any substance that is replicated or derived therefrom for any commercial or profit-generating purpose, or in the conduct of research that is subject to consulting, licensing or other similar legal or commercial obligations to another institution, corporation or business entity, unless the provider provides its prior written consent.
